Hi Christopher,
I think you´ve hit the wrong campaign with your comment on the A39 and T28 .

I bet you wanted the Super Heavy campaign
Paul

I see that now Paul! I had a couple tabs up and apparently picked the wrong one! Those are actually for the "What If" campaign; I'm still going for a Finnish T34.

Hello Paul,
I have gotten about 60 reams of paper so far from your Photo. I need to run them in my translator program as most of it is in German, Italian, Finnish, Russian, French, ETC.

Also they have finished the Library's 2nd Wing, So we are moving the rest of my books into it. We will be a little busy this week stocking the shelves with 2.6 million books. I will have all of my books in one place now (6.78 million) They are not all Military books, Just about 70% are on Military subjects.
I am waiting for the people in Europe and Hollywood to get back to me.
Please give me some more time for that campaign you want to do,
Cheers,
Bruce

Hi there,
just a simple question, or two:
What do you think to my banner, it´s my first try?

I would like to do the same for the award, but if anybody has another wish then say it I´m open for offers.
Oh yeh, what the hell is a "gif" format

I suspect that this is an inter modelling champaign. I am going to do a MKHL Il-2 from 1943. (Royal Hungarian National Air-force) The Fins and Germans did not want them so they sold them to Hungary.

Hello Trevor,
I´m afraid to say that is a no go.
You see I stated at the start of the thread that things like Swiss Air Force BF 109´s are not counted as they were
purchased.
Here´s the OP over head:

Operational Overview
This campaign is dedicated to all the "war machines" which are captured or stolen by one Force, and turned against their former owners. This can cover Land vehicles, Aircraft and Ships of all sizes. Frontline service is the preferred option, but machines used as a "test bed" for evaluation will be allowed.

And here´s Rule No.2

-Your choice of war machine must have proof that it was
stolen or captured. A short description will be ok,
but if you wish to add more please feel free to do
so.

Those mashines look real cool, but they don´t fit in.
There´s plenty of options out there, especially for aircraft.

I may have not given the full details. The Germans captured several Il-2s. Since they nor the Fins wanted them they sold/gave them to the Hungarians who used them against the Russians. Since they (Hungarians) used them against the original users (Soviets)I feel that it complies with the parameters.

Hello Tom,
welcome to my campaign.
Well your ambulance was certainly not being directly used against it´s previous owners, and I doubt very much that it was evaluated either.
But as I said "directly", indirectly it would bring the wounded troops to safety, where they would be fixed up and sent back into battle.
If no-one has any objections, then ok it´s in.

Hello Trevor, and sorry I forgot to say welcome.
It looks like you have found a loophole in my rules.
As I´m not the type to change these after I have made the original set, I shall also put this up for the crowd to decide.
As you say captured is captured, and if you give your loot to an allied nation then in theory it´s ok. But it´s not really what I had in mind.

Well crew, let me know what you think on both matters.
Let´s say by Thursday 23:00 hours, I´ll take time zones into
consideration.

I could build one of the marders that were up gunned with the soviet 76.2. Though the Il-2 does seem more appealing.

O.k., times up and no-one has any objections so,
Tom you are quite welcome to build your ambulance

and Trevor you can do the IL 2, or stick with the Marder,
but remember Jeff Stringer (Pantherf) has a Marder campaign starting shortly where that would fit in.

Have a nice weekend all.

Paul

GIF stands for "Graphics Interchange Format" and was developed by the Compuserve commercial online service a long time ago. Back then, just about every computer had their own way of storing graphics. Compuserve decided to make a format so that images could be shared between computers of different types (this was before JPEG).

And don't forget John's Panzer 38(t) Brigade http://armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Campaigns&file=index&req=showcontent&id=624 too!

And what Paul was talking about... the Marder Madness Campaign http://armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Campaigns&file=index&req=showcontent&id=631 (thanks Paul)

Remember, you CANNOT use the same kit for more than one Campaign!

Thanks Gary, and I´m getting some help from Andrzej Snigorski for the award.

Jeff: no problem, I know you´d do the same for my campaign

John (nito74): Sory mate, I just keep thinking that your campaign and Jeffs are one and the same .
No hard feelings o.k.

Hi all,
here´s the award, simple but shows all what is meant:

Here´s the definition, the yellow represents the "Dunkelgelb" of the Axis forces, the green is the "olive drab" of the Allied. The stripes at the sides are in alternate colors to main body, to represent the changing of sides or owners, as can be seen on the banner.

Many thanks to endrju007 alias Andrzej Snigorski, without who´s help this campaign would of been awardless.

Hi all,

I am really looking forward to this campaign as I think the concept is so interesting. Unfortunately I am stuck on what to build and well, my choices are a little more limited that most. I only build 1/24 or 1/25 scale items so my options are a little thin. I have loads of Jeeps and Kubelwagens but I'm not sure they'd fit the "war machines" definition. (I also have quite a few French Citroen trucks and Mercedes cars from the WWII era but they have the same issues)

I do also have a Tasca Zundapp motorcycle that maybe I could depict as falling into Russian hands? The trouble is that most everything I have would fall under the softskins category.

Now I do have enough arms to convert most any existing model into an armed version of nearly any nation. I could arm a converted Opel Maultier with Russian Maxims or outfit a Jeep with German MG42s. Would this still be in the spirit of this campaign or should I start scouring ebay looking for cheap armor?

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I also have an old Bluetank 1/2? M29C that I can convert but don't have any ideas for yet.

Hello Jim,
and welcome to the campaign.
As I said to Tom who´s brought along a Lorraine Ambulance,
and Trevor who wants to do an IL2 that was passed on to a German allied nation it´s o.k.
You could do any of your mentioned as long as there is some
recognition that they are being used by someone who really shouldn´t have them.
Something like your Maultier filled with US 75/76mm ammo boxes and other GI stuff, or the same for rusky equipment. An upgunned Kubelwagen with 30cal. or such would also go but might be difficult in finding evidence. But a Jeep with German markings or a Kubelwagen with Allied, being used as a liason vehicle would go too. As already stated, they are being indirectly used against their former owners.

Cheers Paul

Thanks Paul. While I don't know which one I'll do just yet I can easily outfit any vehicle with enough weapons and gear to make it clear who is in possession of it. Whatever I end up deciding I will be up gunning it with some firepower from it's new owners.

I'm leaning more towards a German/Russian captured vehicle as I'd like to do something a bit different (especially in 1/24 scale). From what I've read, the use of captured vehicle by both sides was fairly widespread on the Eastern front.

Still here, Paul!

Still haven't decided which "beute" it will be, but I recently picked up another T-34 kit... ex-Rooshians are calling!

June is still about 4 weeks off (whew ) and I never like to jump off quite at the start! I'll be lucky if I cut anything off a sprue before October, on this one But I WILL get in.
