In this video we give you a first-impression look at the new T28 kit from Dragon Models. A real beast!

Jim the videos have improved since you started this approach to quick reviews and for the most part answer the questions most have about what is included in a product. The video answered some questions I had and while I would not look forward to the soul destroying task of adding all of those guide horns this looks to be a reasonable offering with the big plus that it is in plastic. The only negative I have is the annoying buzzing noise that starts near the end of the review.

Hi Darren - Yeah I heard that too. Sadly I think that is something going on with Youtube's upload process as it wasn't there in the raw format. Luckily there wasn't a whole lot to hear at the end.

I'm liking this one the more I see of it. The painting and weathering possibilities are what really have me intrigued...of course to get to that I'd have to get through all those roadwheels

As a side note, I think that buzzing in the vid coincided with one of the lights being turned on?

Ah...thanks for that. I think you are right about the effect.

Jim: My neighbor Capt. Paul DuPree Army retired was on the T-28 project and I remember him telling me that when they demostrating the vehicle to the Pentagon Brass they were running it up at top speed in front of a grandstand full of generals etc and they found out that the hydralics (?) (or elevating equipment) failed on the main gun. He was commanding the tank and he yelled to the driver to speed up to max speed so that as the gun slowly lowered (on its own!!) they could time it to hit the right spot , stop the tank and fire the gun for the demo. They succeded and nobody knew the diference!

I just finished this kit and found a few fit problems. For one, the lower hull was slightly warped causing a gap between it and the upper hull; the lower hull also seemed to be about a millimeter wider than the top. The side track sections were either too narrow, or the tracks are a little too wide for them causing the two track runs to interfere with each other and preventing the outer track sections fitting snugly to the hull. I think the edge of the upper track run (which won't be seen) needs to be trimmed back for a closer fit. Also some parts like hatch copulas came from much older kits, but after clean-up are not bad. The winches to separate the side sections are incomplete and need further detailing.
