Well this is really looking like it is gonna take off and I hope to be able to contribute as well. I have been looking at all the Panzer IV's that are out there dragon makes 1 with a snow plow and I would really like to do a DAK PzIV any suggestions for a kit that would fit that bill

PS: on a side note. I also proposed a "Commonwealth Thunder" Campaign. That is under review for consideration.

You need to start a separate thread for that. If no one knowd about it, you won't get the 10 people needed to make it real.

This sounds like a good chance for me to maybe test the waters here on this site with a build that I will try (and probably fail at) to build out of the box without any scratch detailing. And it seems like it is going to be a truly wide open campaign with anything German that had a turret and gun. I have the old Alan Pz IIC with the Eduard PE set that I would use and should be able to knock out in 6 months. But I think maybe I am just a bit confused with your last paragraph. Does that last bit mean that the only people receiving a ribbon will be those that also completed the first Panzers Campaign some several years ago?

Gary

Welcome to armorama, Im still a new guy around here but welcome anyhoo. The award ribbion will be for this campaign not the previous one or for those who participated in that one. All we have to do is finish a subject(s) during our alloted Campaign time and you are good to go.

There is no failing here this site is great, I was an Aircraft and ship guy and just recently got the armor bug. everyone is greatly helpful and knowledgable in all sorts of of the modelling world. Our campaign is not a competition is a fun group build for those of us who enter to build and talk about our subjects and learn tips and tricks and even future ideas, but most of all have fun with other modellers and even gain some friendships too. I know I along with he others will be looking forward to your builds. I will be building only my second armor kit I will attempt probably a PZIV ausf H. My first armor kit is a Tamiya Panther A that is currently 1/2 built at home.

Happy New Year

Eugene I would like to just clarify what can be built here as I have to check the stash;
Any Panzer I - IV,38T, Panther, Tigers and King Tigers, or anything on those chassis
No paper panzers, Beutepanzer or what if is that correct

Sal

You are correct. Originally it was going to be just Panzer tanks but a lot of messages asking for the panzerkampfwagen chassis. and yes no paper panzers, half tracks or things of that nature.

Tempted to build a p IV with schuerzen rather than a stug. what kits should I consider? My first 1 35 thirty or so years ago was the tamiya one but what should I consider now-a-days?

being your first kit in years, I'd recommend a
Tamyia Pzr IV J or H . Good detail, perfect fitting and good instructions.

actually I meant that the first 1/35 I built 30 years ago was the Tamiya... I have built a Tamiya PzII and on an Italeri Sd.KfZ 10 now, also have a Dragon Stug and Tristar PzI (flakpaner version) so quite happy with Dragon level.....

of course, Tamiya isnt a problem if it is a good representation....

Sorry Robert ..

I might consider Tristar or Dragon, Tristar covers some of the early versions B,C,D while Dragon has them all.

Also it depends on your budget.. For a Dragon J or H version you can get a Tamyia's + PE side skirts
