I just painted on some tracks and wheels with thinned tamiya paints.

@ Bear Of course you can get in on the build just enlist in the campaigns section and welcome aboard, Grest subjects here as well as the modelers..Ill be asking you some sherman questions I know..

@ Ben I am an Aircraft guy also and just ventured this way and and went from 1 kit to 20 in about a month, and just completed my first armor build for the shermans GB. it is great fun still learning how to assemble it a good order a little bit different than A/C and then try some weathering. But welcome aboard glad to have you in the campaign just enlist in the Campaigns section and we look forward to your build.

@ Greg Hows the knee coming along. Your Dio is looking awsome, I was going to do a sherman for this GB but after seeing you Cromwell I may do that one in stead great work my friend.

I'm in !! Okay only problem is the pictures are going to be Iphone pictures since my camera is somewhere in a box 5 hours from here but I'll do my best..
The Cromwell is a great kit and if you want something different Bison has some great decals ... I built it a few years ago .. I would suggest the PE set by Tamiya for the kit (or any other if you want more but the grill is the most important part.

Well just to show I did't have too much done ..Here are my in boxish pictures..




This is one thing I've done was remove the three rectanglular plates on the intakes ..You can see the before and after in the picture.. Those plates seem to be post war modification..


And last picture is the front plate of the turret as it comes in the kit...I'm going to sand off the bulges and maybe add the casting numbers to this part. pictures to follow ..Sorry for the bad pictures..

Thanks Eugene. Go for the Cromwell. The flat bolted sides has great appeal I think.

Sanded off the bulges on the front of the turret and added the casting numbers .. I put on a coat of mr. surfacer but will add the final coat when the whole turret is put together ..



Next on my list to do are to remove the blobs on the side of the turret and replace them with wire attachment points...remove the bolts on the rear hull ..these were added later to be able to convert any Churchill into a Croc more easily .. removed the bolts and supports just infront and below the round side hatches ..These too were added to the later Mark VIIs.. After that it should be smooth sailing ..

Liking the look of this all, some great looking builds happening. Well I am close to completion of the build, and think I am ready for paint and primer.

Well finally decided to upload my project. I will be modelling a Staghound in Normandy. I started this on the 01st June 2012 however have since become side tracked on the diorama.

I was planning on building OOB (First time using PE however after priming I have decided to add stowage. The Legend set arrived yesterday in the mail now all I have to do is find time to add it prior to painting.

Thought I'd post some more progress photos.

Got the hull mosty done on my M-10 Achilles, the rear plate required a lot of holes to be filled as it is set up for the tools in either the British or Canadian configuration.

I'm using a P.E. Antenna set I picked up for this one, and I think it will add value to the kit.

Got some more work done on the Bishop, loving the detail on this kit!

Got a bit done on my Churchill.. I've backdated the turret by sanding the bulges off the front plate ,changed the cupola for the earlier type.. I've also added a new vane sight, changed the molded on lumps on the sides of the turret by drilling holes and adding wire and the casting numbers ...


Started to add the PE from Eduard..



I added the mud scrapers from a AFV Club AVRE kit..

And that's about where I'm at for now ..

I know there is a problem with the boggies on this kit but I'm not a rivet counter so I can over look that

I think by the time that kit was brought out Academy had fixed the suspension problem ...But I might be wrong..lol

Rick the review that I read on PMMS by Terry Ashley said that the boobies were the same incorrect ones that came with the Accademy M-3Lee kit, but like I said I can overlook that and move on

Would an M10 Achilles qualify? If so, I will enlist, although I am a little late

Churchill has been painted, I went with an SSC No. Khaki Green mix I got from the internet, 3 parts Tamiya Olive Drab and 2 parts Tamiya Desert Yellow. I do like the way it came out.




The exhausts are being treated with True Earth Burnt Out effects, and I will add a little pigment when done.
