I do believe that I shall enter a barn door. Ie the 88 on a split trail carriage. Should be fun have the update set for the AFV kit.

Hi, Dave,

Bad luck! The workshop is a German building. The signs next to the wall say "Lövenich, Kreis Erkelenz". Unless somebody took the signs as souveniers(an dragged them to Nomandy before June 1944) from the wider Düsseldorf area, where Lövenich is situated (roughly), this MiniArt building fits better to an winter 1944 or spring 1945 dio, as Allied troops entered Germany.
But some looks at
http://france.themovechannel.com/propertyforsale/house/basse-normandy/
might give you inspiration. It is the type of roofing which is less common in the Bretagne/Normandy area, where slate tiles are used mostly. But maybe MiniArt 35503 would be usable.

Nevertheless: good build! Looking forward.

Dave,
I think you could change the signs to French and get away with it. It's a barn, not a house.

-Paul, Thanks for the heads up! Another great reason I love this website. It wasn't until after I posted the pic that I noticed the box top LilRedBanner reading "US RoadSigns also included", w/ another detached sign in German... WTH? Thanks for clearing that up.
And thank you for the link too; the rustic, uneven rooftile 'look' is what I'm trying for over in The Postcard Challenge.

Anyways, I was only suggesting to Trevor a possibility. My budget is shot for awhile (Jr's Tuition... ) and I already have my fair $hare of MiniArt Bldg$ for now $$$

-Alex, Agreed, I wouldn't think that it would be too big a deal if you just had to use this kit w/ changed signs.

OBTW- Just enlisted! #4, wow...

This should be cool a one, as a continuation of the D Day Campaign. We all know what June of next yr represents.

Cheers to All
Dave

I'm thinking of joining in on this one but I want to be sure. Stand-alone vehicles are OK, right? I'm just not a diorama/vignette kind of builder.

Hi guys, I just saw this campaign and signed up immediately and for once I actually have something in the stash that fits the bill.

I'll be doing the 1/35 Tamiya Cromwell along with the Black Dog resin Hessian Tape Camo Net set.

This should be a lot of fun and a cool painting exercise.

Cheers

Thanks Jeremy! I have to think carefully about this one, it coincides almost exactly with my Then and Now campaign on AeroScale. Also, the first two kits I thought of (Dragon's M4 Normandy and Panther A Normandy) both have paint on them. On the other hand, my Tamiya Cromwell and Churchill are pristine. Hmmm...

With looking at the painting directions in the AFV kit the multi-paint scheem looks quite interesting. Would like to do it. Just do not know how to tackle the the multi-colour ambush scheme. Suggestions graciously appreciated.

Here is my project the PaK 43/41 'Scheuntor' Have not ordered the resin wheels for it yet. Wait for the next show I go to. Will also be using the Voyager Model update showing. If I can not find a way to do the ambush scheme shown in the instructions I will do a lazy scheme. Any suggestions will help. Thanks.

Starter pictures for my 1/35 AFV Club M3A1 Stuart (early). The box is packed with parts for this little tank. Comes with PE, metal barrels, and a variety of options.

Let me know if these pictures are okay. The local paper has started using a smaller font for their date so I've been using the date on my reader. I probably won't start on it until later this week so I can try to get some other pictures if need be.

Alex: Your pictures are fine. I love that kit, they're getting harder to find though.

Anthony: I had a good laugh when you started posting photos because I think I have everything you listed in them

Thanks Jeremy.

It's not a bad looking kit. I wish it had an engine and more of the fighting compartment interior. If it did, I'd build one for the Rust Campaign as a relic undergoing restoration.

I was planning on waiting until after the Holidays but I went ahead and started some work on it. I knew I was goign to be airbrushing some white on base for the Waste Not Want Not Campaign. I figured I'd go ahead and build the hull and turrets up enough to go ahead and shoot them as well. It's actually drying right now.

Howdy Y'all
I've settled on a couple of kits: Tamiya's 1/48 British Light Utility Car 10HP and the old ESCI 1/35 Goliath from the Assault Engineers figure kit. I haven't decided if I'll do one kit or both.
Take Care,
Don "Lakota"
