Thanks all for the concern. I'm doing well, I just haven't had the time to do anything. I've decided that I'm going to cut back on the products that I print myself. It's a lot of work, which was mostly expected, but it isn't very enjoyable for me. I'll be keeping the products that can't be printed through Shapeways available on the website. For now, the listings will stay up but I'll remove the purchase links on products that are available on Shapeways and I'll have a link to the Shapeways product instead. This isn't a decision I take lightly, I've been mulling about it for about a month.

What I will also do is offer replacement parts. If anything from purchased product from Shapeways is damaged or lost, you can contact me through Shapeways or my website and I'll print a copy of that missing part for you.

I'll also still do one-offs. Like say, for example, you wanted a 1/6 M110 SASS, I will still do that.

I'll complete the couple of orders I've received up until now but I won't be taking more orders for items that are also available on Shapeways.

I'm going to try to work on more projects at this time. I'm working full time so I won't have a huge amount of time to work on projects but I'll be able to work on them. I'll go back through the thread and see what's been suggested and try to work on that first.

From the looks of it, I might be able to do it, I just need the dimensions. If it's longer than it is wide, it would take a bit of working but still probably doable for me.

Gensets and cable reels????????

If the US Army would just switch to the HEMTT A3 hybrid electrical vehicle concept offered by Oshkosh they wouldn't need all these aux. generators! The transport tractors themselves could provide all the electrical power the missile battery might require.

If it is anything like the Tricon Containers the Shapeways print price on those Gensets would be rather high but the hose and cable reels might be useful on a number of applications such as generators, fuel trucks, water handling hippos, etc.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but how about a Polish T-55 engine deck in 1/35 scale.

Do you know of any dimensions for the width and diameter? And any other pictures?

Any good top-down pictures? Maybe someone made a conversion and they have or can make a good drawing with dims?

Also now, for you Middle Eastern equipment lovers:

Mike, I found a reference that says the generator for the Patriot Missile Battery is the Cummins Power Generation VT28-G but my internet access to those spec pages seems to be blocked. (I have encountered this security block before when doing research on the Oshkosh HEMTT.) I will continue looking for the dimension specs.

Not sure if the above spec refers to these auxillary truck mounted generators or to the one mounted on the missile trailer itself. There seems to be different gensets being used in these various photos of the aux. generators.

Sorry - not the greatest pics but all I could find.

(From Wikipedia)
The EPP-III Electric Power Plant
The EPP-III Diesel-Electric Power Plant (EPP) is the power source for the ECS and Radar. The EPP consists of two 150 kilowatt diesel engines with 400 hertz, 3-phase generators that are interconnected through the power distribution unit. The generators are mounted on a modified M977 HEMTT. Each EPP has two 100-gallon fuel tanks and a fuel distribution assembly with grounding equipment. Each diesel engine can operate for more than eight hours with a full fuel tank. The EPP delivers its power to the Radar and ECS through cables stored in reels alongside the generators. Additionally, it powers the AMG via a cable routed through the ECS.

There appears to be a subframe that secures the two gensets, fuel tanks and electrical cable reels. This subframe attaches to a special loadbox on the standard HEMTT. This non-standard loadbox has special fold down sides that form catwalks to allow for service access to the generators.

Shown here is generator mounted on Patriot Launcher trailer - this is a different spec from auxiliary truck mounted gensets or single axle trailer mounted generators.

You might try this website for additional EPP III information:

http://generators.tpub.com/TM-9-6115-669-13P/

(Still have not found dimensional data on individual generators. Perhaps I can find it somewhere in the civilian sector covering the same genset in commercial service.)

p.s. Cable reels rotate 90 degrees when deployed.

Mike, I believe, this is what you are looking for:

Diameter of Power Cable Reels appear to be just a shade under 36 inches or 91.4 centimeters.

I assume those units are in inches? As a surveyor I cringe when I see numbers without units on a drawing - a mistake anyone I've trained over the years soon learned not to repeat!

3D printing these in 1:35 would be a very expensive hobby...

Tom that drawing is dually-demented (as we used to say at Square D Company / Groupe Schneider) in inches and centimeters. That becomes obvious when you multiply what turns out to be the inch measurement by the centimeter conversion factor of 2.54.

(I have yet to find any statement of legend or measurement units in this manual
but I feel sure it is in there somewhere.)

Example: Generator enclosure length of 113.5 (inches) x 2.54 = 288.00 (centimeters)

Well, that won't lead to confusion! Somebody must have thought it was a good idea...

Still, plenty of info for CAD work! I suspect the size rules out selling 3D prints, but it might be worth the cost of a single print to act as master for traditional casting of more affordable copies - I wonder if any of the resin companies out there are interested?

Are you looking for the actual generators themselves or just the gensets and cable reels?

Just the genset outside "boxes/enclosures".

I am guessing it would be better (cheaper) to digitally prototype one genset and then make resin molds from that. (As Tom said.)

Ok, that does make it easier. I'll see what else I can scrounge up on it.

And for the IDF fans out there, some Tavor X95s. Two sets with handguards attached and removed. Available now.

(Yes, I forgot that long notch on the backs of the STANAGs but that was just fixed.)

I sell them all on Shapeways. Prices vary by model but these are $11.50 for High Detail and $14.00 for "Ultra High Detail" (unfortunately Shapeways raised their prices.) I personally don't have pictures of the sets myself because it's too expensive to order from them all the time.

IR lights can be easily get from old M113 kit. I wonder if you find out the changes that need to be done on RSOV kit?

I have not seen if there are seat belts for driver and passenger seats.

It seems there are lights behind the mesh of the bumper but I don't know how they are fixed.
