If I had only seen this MAZ photo three years ago I would have bought two kits and had a crew cab!

that would've been a bit pricey, no?

Perhaps, but if that is what it takes for a build then that's what it takes.

I am sort of famous/infamous for using two or more kits to build an entirely different model that is otherwise unavailable to me.

Besides I seem to always have other plans percolating in the back of my mind. At the same time I would have been building the crew cab I was already wanting a fifth wheel assembly off a MAZ for another scratch/conversion I was planning.

Michael, maybe Trumpeter should get in contact with you, and you give them a list of kits you would like.

To name but a few . . . (Multiple kits used to build one model.)

- Don't know how many old Italeri CCKW water tanker kits I have cannibalized to build closed cab Deuces and to fix Hobby Boss's cab foul up of an otherwise great new Deuce and a Half kit.

But then I ending up building a CCKW fuel browser and a fuel semi-trailer from the many left over water tanks I had in the spares box.
__________________________________________________

- It took two complete Dragon Wagon kits to get the needed parts to build my Mack NO (one junker and one brand new kit - both found on eBay)

With the left overs I then built the DW trailer AND a 2-axle M199 dolly so any heavy truck can be used to pull the trailer.
__________________________________________________

- Used two Tamiya CCKWs to build a long bed COE Deuce.

And right now I am getting a shipping quote for the purchase of two Trumpeter Mk 23 truck kits to provide the suspension and drive differentials needed for starting the HEMTT A3.

Here is my entry for the Truck and trailer campaign. The kit it's shelf is a work of a resin art. All the parts fit well, but there was a few location holes I had to enlarge but still this kit as about as close to injection modeled quality you can get in resin.
As with most truck kits , it starts with the frame. the one one piece chassis is beautifully cast, I just had to clean up some very thin flash and get to work.
I'm not going to give a blow by blow report of the build. This kit is so easy to work with that it goes together quickly. On to the pictures.....

This is the finished frame, I put the cab on there just to see if I had clearance for all the engine details

More to come......

And I thought the start date was 2016-12-01 .

Being the round peg fitting in the square hole I've pretty much settled on a slightly left-field TnT (truck'n'trailer):

My justification being that the war effort at home was just as important as the actual conflict zones.
Scratch build. Scale TBD.

Dustin, on the Campaign rules at #5,
5) Builds from other campaigns are not allowed

and you are doing this one for another Campaign (750+) .
you can keep this one here but chose another build for the other one please.

I'm almost positive those rules weren't there when I initially decided to do this because I specifically looked in this campaign for those rules.. Because the other campaign allowed it. If not, I wouldn't have done it.

I guess I'll find something else to build for the 750+

I only check the rules and change what needs to be changed when I am approving the Campaign submission.
After that only by request of the Camp. Manager. and that wasn't the case here.

On the 750 Camp. I noticed that allowing other Campaigns was a request so I didn't change it.

Dustin, I've checked the thread, and that rule was changed during the approval/ submiting process,
Sometimes it isn't there but this time it was.

Since you already started it ,,, I will change the rule and allow it for these 2 Campaigns.

Let's see if this works....
I started the build a little bit ago, before I had noticed the campaign. The model is is sub assemblies, and not primed as of today. Let me know if it's ok to use for the campaign!
Thanks,
Larry

Ok, here's the chassis in AK black primer. I really like this stuff, but it really needs at least 24 hours to cure.
