Thank you very much for this. I will be posting how well make-up pigments work.

HI

If the face had been larger so that you could actually see what was being done and had it remained in focus, then this would have been great. But, if you follow along and extrapolate what is being said then it may be of use.

I agree with Logan. Personally, the head appears far too small for this tutorial to be of any use whatsoever. To do a 1/35 head effectively definitely requires a close-up lens.

I'm actually watching Pt 1 right now; I can understand some of the criticisms you have received, but all in all for a first video it isn't too bad, and certainly better than any I've done...because I've not gotten off my butt and done one.

The sound issue must definitely be overcome, as for many people it is a turn off, and I think your info is worth viewing. Are you using a headset with an attached mike? If you have any way to record your sound without it being close enough to pick up your exhalations, that would go miles in improving watchability.

I am glad you incorporated some text frames to explain certain procedures; perhaps adding subtitles at more areas during the entire video may also help. To deal with the problems people are having with the distance of the face, do you possibly have someone who might be able hold the camera for you and see if using the zoom is enough to make it more visible? I realize you probably did this on your own as most of the modelers do, but it is just a thought for the future, should the opportunity arise.

Thank you, everyone, for your comments. I will take into consideration and I am promising a better video with a bigger head.So my comments on these two videos:
The distance I kept is as you were beside me and making you a private seminar. The head is 1/35, less than 10mm. A couple of years before I had attended some seminars from a just one-meter distance and believe me this video is much better. Even I was near to the artist I could not see clearly where the brush was painting as his head was very close to the piece. In this video, my main target is to show the new technique and how easily can be done. A very important factor that in close up video neglected is the mixing proportions (here you can see clearly how I mixed everything). That is why I put the sound add-on. It is impossible to paint in this scale and talk at the same time. If you hear what I am doing it is very easy to have such a result. Just tried. I have also included where to put the highlights...The most important is to see the consistency of the paints and how I paint than where because even if you where near me you could not see any better. Practice and practice. Follow my instructions and the face will be painted very well!

Regards
Stelios

That is excellent Stelios, people whinning are actually missing the point that what IS important is not the face but the movement of the brush on it, which your video is showing very well !
unfortunately many people won't understand what painting is all about : lights and brushing.
great, i mean: GREAT tutorial, describing exactly how to paint a head in 35th scale.
many thanks for taking the time to do it !

Bonjour Franck

Wasn't complaining or WHINING! Just offered up some constructive criticism on what I thought were shortcomings. As you can see, the "author" has taken our comments as constructive and has offered up some solutions.

When the shot is blurry and small, it is hard to see the quote movement of the brush unquote and the effects that are being demonstrated.

S'il vous plaît apprendre ce que le mot constructif signifie et passez une bonne journee.
