Wow! Talk about a cluttered upper deck! How the heck do they know what to use when engaging a target with so many options (besides training).

They just shoot everything they have and see what hits.

Alternatively there is probably a computer that works out the best way of dealing with specific airborne threats. (Speed, distance, altitude, etc.) Distant targets- missile; close targets- gun would be the simple algorithm; you can refine it, of course. I had the impression that the optical/IR tracking is a fall-back option in case the radars are jammed/dangerous to use.
