Great looking builds everyone. Raj I love the cammo on that Tiger. Martin, nice decal work, looks very nice.
I am coming along on the Wespe. Just blocked in the tools, added the decals, and played with some oils. I am going to hit it with a coat of flat in the next few days and finish the tools then dirty up the lower hull. Questions and comments welcome. Let me know if I have overlooked something.

Mark & Kalin

Thank you

Martin

How many liters of Microsol did it take
Looks Fantastic

Cheers

I don't know, but the big decal on tha back top took me about 3 hours to place ans seal it. It is 3-part decal and it was not flexible at all. But in the end it worked.

I managed to get some bench time over the weekend and got some paint sprayed.
Untitled by iflytb20, on Flickr

I forgot to mention this in the last post. I drilled out all the spare tracks and added some track pins. I only broke 4 drill bits in the process

I wanted to hollow out the guide teeth as well bit I didn't want to risk my last remaining drill bit

Untitled by iflytb20, on Flickr

I primed the kit with Alclad's Black primer and microfiller

Untitled by iflytb20, on Flickr

I'm using Mission Model paints for this build. I sprayed the Dunkel Gelb first....

....followed by Olive Grun and...

Untitled by iflytb20, on Flickr

....Rot Braun.

The final result. This is my first time attempting this type of camo. It looks a bit stark to me right now. I plan to overspray Dunkel Gelb over this to blend in the camo and then add a filter. If I'm still not happy, I can always respray it

Thanks for watching

Cheers

Raj,
Love to see some texturing on the Tiger. A few strokes of abrasive is a good way to smooth out a bit if you think there is too much!

Time for an update on my build

Untitled by iflytb20, on Flickr

Dragon makes the hull with an intentional warp to enable a snug fit of the hull roof. While the engine plate helps in reducing this warp at the rear, I had to add a spreader at the front as the roof just refused to stay in place.

Untitled by iflytb20, on Flickr

Added the spare track holders. The lower one had a strip of styrene connecting each holder. I cut them off to make it a bit more realistic.

Untitled by iflytb20, on Flickr

The upper hull roof part was a bit warped. I had a tough time getting it to sit properly. Lots of swear words were used during this phase of the build

Untitled by iflytb20, on Flickr

The commander's cupola was missing from my box (along with a road wheel). Thankfully I have another box of the same kit and I was able to steal one wheel from there. Sadly no such luck for the cupola and i had to make it from the spares bin.

Untitled by iflytb20, on Flickr

The hull is finally finished. Now to add the various tools and hatches

Untitled by iflytb20, on Flickr

I tried to get some rolled steel effect with some Mr Surfacer. This is my first time doing it and I feel I may have overcooked it a bit

Untitled by iflytb20, on Flickr

I initially planned to use the AM copper tow cables, but I had a change of plans. I wanted to depict the tank as it was just after it arrived in Italy and after it got its camo but before it entered combat. So I ended up using the kit cables after all.

The kit as it stands now. ObLt Minion stands guard as I get the paint booth all prepped up. Please stay tuned for further updates.

Thanks for watching

I'm sorry if I disappointed you.
Kalin

Hi Kalin, no disappointment at all. It was meant as little joke. I thought you had intentionally made some battle damage!

If this happens a gain, just stipple some putty filler in the gap to make it look like the piece broke away and there is only a small bit left stuck on the turret/hull.

I am slowly making progress on the Grille. The detail in the engine bay is so nice I am tempted to leave an engine hatch open.

Zsolt - beautiful work on that Chaffee, I have heard the Bronce kit is finicky, a testament to your skill.

Kalin - Terrific looking Befehlspanther!
