Should be fun as I've needed an exscuse to build this kit I really want to see how it turns out. The camo looks particularly interesting with all that yellow and an interesting pattern on the fuselage.

Welcome aboard Chris. The Friedrich will be a nice partner to the Stuka being built for this campaign too.

I think it's an ICM kit, but can't be sure. Could you let me know the kit and scale, then I can update the data sheet.

Hi Gaz yes it's an ICM kit of the Bf109F-2 in 1/48 scale.

The T-34 looks great. Makes me want to a T-34 next year (this year's schedule is pretty full). I like the snow.
As far as a matte coat, I would follow Mark's recommendations. In fact, I'm going to try it with my models after I use up my rattle can and acrylic matte. Try doing one light coat and let it dry for a few days and see how you like it. You can always apply more coats but I would say "less is more" unless you really want a dead flat finish. Remember these T-34's were new and fighting in the winter. There might be some moisture causing a slight glean surface to the metal. I'll stop throwing my 2 cents around now, you're obviously doing great.

I'm happy to say I've completed my t-34 vignette. The snow part didn't come out as hoped, but the tank came out as desired.

One of the senior members of my stash is this SIG-33. Issued by Dragon in 1995. Since this campaign is so young, I'll build it, too.



Not sure about the color scheme. I thought anything German at Stalingrad was grey.

Yes Gaz, the '33 needs to be grey for Stalingrad. A few were used later

With only two pics that I have seen of the beast before or in Stalingrad, I have a lot of room for maneuver. So I think I'm going to make this one look very well-used.

Don't get too excited, the first batch of 12 of these were not delivered until Oct 1942 and the second batch were delivered until Nov 1942 but were sent to a different unit than originally intended as they were meant to be delivered prior to the encirclement. They were then used to assist in attempts to relieve the 6th Army.

Gaz, in the Stalingrad region, the machine is used in the composition of StuGesch.Abt.

I know nothing on building aircraft but I would say you been busy correcting gap issues.
Not being critical, but that engine could use some dry brushing as it look's in the picture as one big black lump.

Mark criticism is more than welcome as another pair of eyes might see what I can not. I've not started the weathering process yet as there is still a lot more handling invovled before I get to that point and that may erase the weathering I apply now.

Time for me to get cracking on my build finally:

So far this kit is not up to the normal quality I expect from Trumpeter. It's not bad, but more flash than I usually see and the fit is not always great. Nevertheless, it's going together pretty quick. Had to use some .3mm Plastruct rod to augment the welds where the side plates joined the hull:

Thought this would be a good time to an update on my entry; Dragon's Panzer IV F1. The assembly of the tank was completed last week. Spent this last week figuring out which accessories to add. Sorry for the glare, new LED's in the paint booth and I forgot to adjust the F-stop.



I plan on making the tank look like she had traveled a long hard path to Stalingrad.
