I am planning to build a civilian Ural 4320 in sky blue as seen in the pictures below. I absolutely love the blue colour in such a mean looking and sounding truck.

I am starting with the Trumpeter kit. I personally think its a nice kit and molded well, would love the option of the different filter on the fender though. I may need to make this or source one.

I also have miniarm resin tyres and a flat tyre from the same company. Very well molded and detailed tyres.

This will be part of a diorama unyet as started but i have a few hidden gems for it. But 1st the truck.

If anyone has built this kit or any recommendations im all ears. I have a few walkarounds saved as reference and watched some YouTube videos of these truck. Quite impressive.

Hi, Nick!

Best of luck with your new project, and YES, it IS an impressive vehicle!

Keep us posted; it'll be GREAT to see this military truck done up as a civilian-adaptation!!!

PS- If you have any spare 1/35 modern trucks, you should be able to "cobble" that Air Filter. Perhaps something out of a 1/32 CIVILIAN truck kit might help you. You could try "cobbling" something from say, the various 1/32 Peterbilt or Kenworth kits; they have "upright" External Air Filters.. I'll check MY OWN spares for you as well...

I know it's too late as you have already bought the kit, but I guess the pictured truck may be the "long nose" variant of the 4320, fitted with a YaMZ 238 engine since 1993. The Trumpeter truck is an earlier model fitted with the KamAZ-740 V8. Since the mid-1990s the Ural-4320 has had its headlights located on the bumper, and the old attachment points for headlights appear as plastic plugs. Zvezda has released the "long nose" 4320 :

According to the caption, the blue truck may be a 2008 model, just like this one :

Either of those trucks would look good in that blue color.

A blue "short nose" 4320 :

I guess it's a timber truck with the crane removed :

Other flavors :

I believe this "short nose" may be fitted with a YaMZ-236 engine (which doesn't require a longer engine bay, contrary to the YaMZ-238)...

But i did notice a few short nose models with the larger external air filter setup. More great references. Thanks Frenchy!!

There are two in my last post (the blue ones). Do you consider scratchbuilding a timber truck ?

These are fitted with a different model of filter (looks like it's plugged to the original snorkel air intake) :

If you're still undecided about what version to build, Balaton has released a dump truck conversion set (which is much cheaper than the Panzershop timber truck )
