On the other hand, why finish up a project when you can start a new one?

Most of the lower hull bits are done. I'm just skipping the interior stuff as it won't be visible. Doing the suspension may be a bit of a challenge - there is a lot of play in the suspension parts so getting the wheels to line up smoothly may not be that easy.

My Bronco build is slowly moving along and I now have the launch base completed. Here's how it looks with the fiddley bits added.

I also painted the resin base at the same time so here's two photos with the launcher on the painted base. There is a subtle variability on the resin concrete base but the bright light I used to photograph it makes it looked washed out.

Next step is to paint the launcher and also start the build on the missile itself.

Have fun modeling!

Mike,
I never realized the launcher had that deflector at its base. That’s really cool!

Cheers!🍺

Mike,

Nice clean work on the base, does it rotate?

Off to a good start, Phil!
I use a pair of 1-2-3 blocks to hold the wheels and suspension parts square while the glue is setting.Any square object(wood plank or even plastic) can serve the purpose either.

Nice launching platform, Mike!
While the concrete base is a right-on-the-mark enhancement!
Looking forward to see it painted and weathered(burnt concrete, wow!!!)

Take care, buddies, and keep modelling!

Another work progress.
I built the machine body, assembled the chains (unpleasant work - the plastic is soft and supple, I felt like I was sticking rubber), and applied the base color. It starts to take shape.

Following is a fine model work.
Have fun.

Kalin-The Modelling Machine!!!

Love the look of it(too much of a gun on a too less of a vehicle) and look forward to see it weathered!

A little more from me. I applied camouflage and built some machine crew figures. Here are some photos.

I continue with weathering.
Have fun.

Nice Kalin

Having a bit better results than me.

Following Mike Starmer's excellent Tamiya colour mixes for Commonwealth colours, which I have used numerous times to great effect, I give you my first rendition of BS 64 Portland Stone

...only one thing, after the initial shock I discovered that I mixed up the quantities for XF2 Flat White and XF 3 Flat Yellow when adding to the XF 57 Buff. Guess which has too much and which has too little...

Off to listen to a little Donovan Leitch and later off to the hobby store for more paint....

"I'm a little Mellow Yellow...….."

Beautifully modulated Dunkelgelb.
You have to give me the color ratio.
Seriously, I like the color and can find it an application.
Good luck with the new batch of paint.

Hi Mark
I glued the ring to the main part of the stand as I wanted the missile to be stable once the model is finished. I think it can be made to rotate but some small mods would need to be done.
Have fun modeling!

Mike, Angel
Thanks for the compliments on my base and launcher! I will likely do a little additional weathering on the concrete but I think I'll try to follow the "less is More" philosophy here. The amount will likely be dependent on how much weathering I end up doing on the launcher.
Have fun modeling!

Nice enhancement of the Marder, Kalin!
I especially like the casualy sitting gentleman, who apparently enjoys the high platform view
I'm sure he would love playing with a dog

So Peter,
You have made a Portland Sun instead of Portand Stone?!
Kalin has a point-it is a pretty nice Dunkelgelb you have mixed here.I'll modify the recipe you used and keep it-with your permission-for future use too.
Will call it Peter's Bright Sun Dunkelgelb
Paints and glue are modellers TP nowadays- hope you find all paints required, mate!

Mike,
I am pretty sure- using "Less is More" weathering paradigm, you'll produce a model, that's "More" stunning, than "Less" stunning

Take care all!
And keep modelling

Well bought the paints, mixed up a new batch, and realised I actually had the mix right!! Portland stone is a much more yellow colour than I had expected.

What I missed was Mike's extra comment: "It could stand a fraction more XF2 and perhaps a fraction less XF57 but if I tweaked it then the proportions of the other colours would be really silly".

Original mix was

1 part XF 57 Buff
1 part XF 3 Flat Yellow
6 parts XF 2 Flat White

I add 40-50% X 22 Gloss Clear and use Tamiya Lacquer Thinner to get a smooth finish.

Gun barrel, shield, and sight/aiming parts primed.

A quick coat of green on the barrel assembly.

Edit: That green doesn't seem "bright" enough, eh? AK Interactive AK4212 OD No. 22.

Mike,
Remember it's olive drab not green.
It looks good on my screen.

I'm with Dan on this. OD should be a brown shade, not a green shade. A green shade is closer to 'new' British SSC 15. I use AK 133 (their original colour ) and AK 136 for a highlight.

OD? Green? To a color-blind dude, they sorta look the same to me unless they're side by side. Brown too.

Probably why I buy paints in sets...at least I hope to get close unless of course I need a specific color like Post War OD.

I'll stick with this color for now.

Mike High, Thank's for posting your work. One of your photos made me realize that I sanded-off a small detail. Oh well, let the scratch-building begin! 🔪🛠
