Hi all,

I have managed to add some more snow (see images below). Hoping to get the 'old' ground snow finished and dirtied down this weekend, then next week I can get some fresh snow layered on top, .

Have started to dirty-down the 'snow' (see images below). Again it's a tad rough but will hopefully look better once I've added a bit more colour and a fresh fall of 'snow', .

Some images below of a second layer of washes and a layer of 'clean snow'. I've over egged the washes so that hopefully they'll be subtly visible when covered with snow powder, .

Hi all,

Whilst giving the first layer of snow the rest of the day to dry before I add another layer I thought I'd spend a bit of time adding snow to the two façades (see images below).









Methinks I need to make the groundwork look wetter and more slushy, so I guess that might be next on the list.

If anyone has any comments regarding getting the look of the snow more accurate, please feel free to comment.

Please do remember, that if snow melts, the first place to disappears from, is from buildins, since they will be heated... I would keep it cold. Not slushy...

Brrr G the Cool-ometer’s icing up - like Jerry I’ve never attempted snow & this is turning into some tutorial, fantastic work. I think your main challenge will be blending the frontages and the tank into the scene so they don’t jar/contrast with it. Some kind of subtle frosting maybe but I’ve no idea how to do that…talc?? Anyhow where’s my cobbles dude? Buried!

The snow used allows for very fine application so a icing effect could be achieved... What sizes do you have, G?

Thanks for the comments, ...I was thinking more about the road surface, wouldn't that get slushy as vehicles drove over it, even if it was a relatively fresh fall?

Thanks for the supportive words, .

You're right about the blending, I've gone back to finishing off the Churchill, my thoughts being that I'll get it finished, then finish the buildings add them all together and add a final layer of snow once I'm generally happy, so as to finish the blending, .

That's a personal question, ...I've never had any complai...ooops, you're referring to the snow, .

I have the fine stuff that is suggested up to 1/35th, and te slightly coarser stuff for over 1/35th, so have some options to explore.

Hi all,

I want to add a reasonable amount of stowage to the Churchill and was looking for some decent images of an actual tank loaded up.

There are plenty of images of models built up and stowage added, with a lot of kit positioned on the rear engine deck, exactly where the exhaust is located.

In reality would this happen, my thoughts would be that boxes, cans and cloth material located around the exhaust would have constituted a fire hazard.

Any thoughts? All comments appreciated.

No, unless it thaws or salt is being used, the snow will be compressed by the vehicles, turning it into an icesheet...

Again the old adagium "dirty mind is a joy for ever" goes up

I'd use a very fine strainer to achieve the frosty effect. Maybe with a coat of (sprayed) matt varnish as base to stick on... You can always try on a old kit or a piece of scrap plastic...

Hi all,

Not had much spare time recently, so progress is a tad on the slow side.

I've managed to paint the Churchill turret and have started adding some stowage and other 'decorations' to the vehicle (see images below).









I've decided that the crew will be shown pilfering sheets from the buildings and adorning the tank as an expedient camouflage as the original whitewash has not lasted the course of the winter snows.
