Thanks guys. The background and lighting is the same throughout. The angles and close-ups change the color for some reason. The ramp cable is made from steel colored sewing thread.

Did you take the close-ups with macro on? I found the same result when I did - takes in way too much light, I fixed it by taping a card 'shroud' around the lens that limits the effect..

All were taken with the Macro setting on. The shroud may help though. I'll try it next time. Thanks.

Another trick is to take the pictures from further away, using the zoom to get closer in. This also avoids half a vehicle being out of focus. Cheers Henk

It is now steel. I noticed that after taking the pics too. Amazing what the camera will show that the calibrated eyeball misses.
