Beautifull, the weathering is spot on, very subtle, well done. I don't know the Centurion that well, so this comment is an 'instictive' one, but the smoke launchers point 'inwards' rather than out. Is that typical for the Centurion? It's just that smoke launchers usually seem to be pointing outwards. That crew figure looks superb, what brand and how did you paint him? Cheers Henk

First, let me say thanks to everyone for your wonderful comments. Second, the figure is from Warriors. the base coat is Vallejo khaki brown (which is the same as the manlet cover), then shaded with oils. The face was painted following an article by Marc Bannerman(which I found on Missing Lynx). The model is preshaded, then base coated with Vallejo model air 20 (german green). It was washed with various oil colors, bry brushed with lightened shades of the vallejo base and the final touch was pastel powders. I had alot of fun doing this and experimenting with new techniques for me. The smoke launchers are correct as far as I can tell, but I was only working from about 3 pics that showed them uncovered. Again thanks for your responses. Sean

Donīt really know much about the centurian, but this model looks cool. Have to agree about the weathering, just perfect to show use, but nothing is hidden because of it .... it compliments the model, one could say. The figure has a great pose ... well done Warriors, and the pixie type suit looks great. His skin tones appear to be too "desert yellow" or jaundiced in the pictures. A little more red in the mix might bring about a more natural colour. Other than that small nit-pick, it all looks great. Welcome to the site, and what a way to start!!

That's a magnificent looking centurion..... I particularly like the weathering, very subtle. the rain marks look very realistic. Great effort.

Have to agree with everyone else on this, a most excellent representation of the Cent, a very over looked tank i think. One question though, why the white star markings? I know the US never had Cents, and that white star is, to me, associated with US vehicles.....is it a "NATO" marking? Regards from the Swamp Hawkeye

the British, and I think all allied nations used US stars during the Korean war for ID purposes. Sean

Thanks, man. Because of you, a new Cent will be long in coming. Why should anyone produce a new one when you can make the old one look that good? Very nice work!

I hope not! What I did took a lot of work, and there is still alot that could be done to accurize it. After I ifnished I found some pics here on Armorama and have seen things I should have done to improve. Plus all the variations out there of the Centurions I would think translate into nice returns of someone would make the base and expand to the variations. Just look at the possiblities with what the Israeli's have done. I really appreciate everyones compliments and suggestions and questions. sean
