1⁄35Bishop 25 pdr SP Gun
This 25 pdr SP Bishop was built from Bronco’s kit to participate in the 500+ campaign here on Armorama. The kit went together well except for the some warped parts on the upper hull sprue. I made some changes to the superstructure to match the configuration of the specific vehicle I wanted to build and I also moved the rack for the POW cans to the rear fender to duplicate the configuration used on that vehicle. The kit has a well detailed interior so it was built very close to stock, but I did add the wiring for the radio, headset and microphone. The model was pre-shaded and painted primarily with Tamiya acrylics. The main color was mixed to represent the British color Light Stone that had faded slightly. Post-shading was used extensively to help vary the fading and wear effects and most of the detail painting was done with Vallejo paints. Chipping was done using hairspray, sponge and paintbrush techniques. Oil paints were used for washes and pigments were used to simulate the ever present dust found in North Africa. I deliberately kept the amount of dust down, as this was an artillery piece, not a tank.
