Libyan Gun Truck

  • move
Hello everybody This year Libya marks the six anniversary of its revolution, I hope everyone remembers this clash between Gaddafi loyalists and rebels seeking to oust his government. News and newspapers were a lot of videos and pictures of the conflict. So one of the stars of the conflict were many vans equipped with various weapons added by the rebels. This model was inspired by the Land Cruiser 75 gun truck used by rebels during the Battle of Galaa/Sofitt Hill in June 7, 2011. In order for me to depict this truck correctly, I used "Pickup with ZPU-1" produced by MENG and “Technical Pick up w/BMP Turret Conversion Set” - resin conversation set from Def Model. The model was painted with Tamiya acrylics and weathered using products from AK-Interactive.

What an interesting-looking beast. Only true desperation and the lack of anything else would make anyone outside of Mad Max to come up with anything like this!

Incredible weathering on wheels! Anyway, still curious with the final exterior paint on such van, what combination it is? Is it yellow green mixed with khaki drab? Or anything else man? Congratulations for the very cool job and many thanks for sharing.
