Leningrad

  • move
This is a Leningrad scene with the Officer arriving in his Simca staff car. He's observing the steppe after heavy fighting repelling a Soviet counterattack. The Panzer 3 N is a Tamika kit, so as usual there were no build issues. The figures are from a Dragon set and they don't go together as well as you'd like, the overcoats don't fit very well. I used Tamiya and Vallejo acrylics for the figures.

Like to build 35 scale ,mostly WW2. Modelling is a welcome relief from the stress of daily work.

The TC looks exactly like the one in the Miniart Winter German panzer crew set. The dio is sweet!! I love the thick coats

I really like this diorama! However, my praise and critique begin and end at the roadway's edge. The knocked-out Russian tank side is excellent, but the Pz III and Simca seem squeaky clean (factory-fresh) in what should be Russian winter slop. In addition, the active vehicles seem to be skating on the roadway, as there are no ruts to bog them down. IMHO. Otherwise, this is a really nice scene.❄️ Cheers!🍺 —mike

Have to agree with Mike's comments. Also, I don't believe there is any steppe around the Leningrad area. Mostly dense forests with some marshes/swamps.
